Digital Workflow

I use a Nikon Z50 camera with a PNY Elite-X 128 GB SD memory card. I edit and store my photographs on my Acer laptop. I also use Dropbox and Google Drive to back up my files online.

After every photoshoot, I go through the images and delete the ones I do not need before transferring the remaining photographs to my laptop. Since I am still learning photography and do not take large numbers of photos regularly, I do not need to free up storage very often.

At the moment, I do not feel that I need to invest in more photography equipment. If I continue taking more photographs in the future, I would consider buying an external hard drive or SSD to give me more storage and another backup option.

I transfer my photographs from my Nikon Z50 to my Acer laptop using a USB cable. Once I have checked that all the images have been copied successfully, I delete the photographs from the memory card so it is ready for my next photoshoot.

I keep my folders organised and easy to navigate. Each folder is named according to the subject or category of the photographs, such as Landscape Photography, Portraits, or School Assignments. When needed, I also create subfolders for specific projects or dates. This makes it easy to find a particular photograph later without searching through all my files.

My original photographs are stored on my laptop, and they are also backed up automatically to Dropbox and Google Drive. Having multiple copies means that if something happens to my laptop, my files are still available in cloud storage.

If my laptop were lost, damaged, or stopped working, I would still have copies of my photographs stored in Dropbox and Google Drive. Because both services back up my files automatically, I am confident that I would not lose my important photographs.
